They Need Us (Sendong Victims)

Total number of death – 917, total number of injured – 1,194, total number of reported missing persons – 636, total number of persons still housed in evacuation centers – 39, 414, total number of affected persons – 161, 437; according to Philippine National Red Cross.

In just a snap, these cause our fellowmen in Cagayan de Oro.

The Tropical Depression “SENDONG” which has just entered this recent year of December 15 destroyed this province.

All the victims are very in need of help. Their stomachs are starving finding for food and water. Their skinny bodies are shivering looking for clothes. Their bodies’ are trembling hoping for shelter. Their tired eyes are crying having their lost loved ones. Their hope to get up once again are vanishing, are we allowing it?

Christmas has passed, New Year has passed, and some feasts have passed. How many seasons are we going to deny from them to have? How many days we’re still going to count before we act?

Others may think that it is also their fault living in a hazardous place but do they still have the mistake of not having the field to plant for that selfish businessmen are keep on mining and building extravagant subdivisions in our dear green forests? Who will bet that the richest among wealthy men in the Philippines can do the hardships of a farmer?

All of us have misdeed. They say that in God’s eyes it is not a matter of who has made the greatest or the least of sin. Likewise, it is not a matter of who has made the most or the least donation; for as long as we have given the most out of our best and all coming from our heart.

Remember, it is not a reply to a command but simply being responsible.

To send of your help, here is a list to choose from of where you would like to.
